Combating postpartum depression

There is a saying stating, “Every child birth is a rebirth of the mother”. Every woman has a desire to become a mother. The path of motherhood is not full of roses. The initial period after a baby is born is sometimes very tough for a mother. Sleepless nights, enervating days, household chores and stress can lead to depression. Many women suffer from this depression known as postpartum depression. However, they try to hide it. Which can lead to mental stress. Here are some tips, which can help overcome this depression.

The first thing to do is to look at your baby’s face. Just see how beautiful he is, how innocent he is. He is so lucky to have you as his mother and you are so lucky to have him in your life. Just think, this sweet, little; innocent baby does not even know where he is. He is in this world because you wanted him to come to your life. And since, God loves you a lot, he blessed you with this little prince. And remember, he is not going to stay a baby always, He is going to grow up day by day. Enjoy every phase of his growth. Feel the warmth of his giggle. Take his little fingers in your hand see how precious he is. Just imagine what a gift God has given you. He is your flesh and blood. See the traits he inherited from you.

Getting exhausted at this stage is very obvious. So, when you get tired, ask someone to help you. Ask a family member to help you so that you can get some sleep. Take a break occasionally. Ask someone in your family to take care of your little one for some time while you go and do some shopping for yourself. Pamper yourself more. Go to beauty salon, get a nice hairstyle, get yourself a nice massage in some good spa salon.

Eat well. This is one of the most important steps to keep yourself away from depression. After child birth its very important for a mother to continue taking vitamins. Ask your doctor about vitamin tablets. Eat nutritious food, plenty of green vegetables and fruits. Drink plenty of water because it helps flush out toxins from the body.

Last but not the least , remember , you are a mother now and  God gives immense mental and physical strength to every mother. Now you have the responsibility of making a Good Samaritan. This is one job, which you have to fulfill diligently.

Try this steps and see how you become a winner mom.
